CS2 commands: full list with descriptions and an autoexec generator

159 CS2 console commands and 9 ready scripts: crosshair, viewmodel, radar, FPS, audio, bot practice, quick knife and demos. Each has a description, the values (when the game provides them) and a copy button. Pick a few and we build an autoexec.cfg with a comment on every line.

We checked the command names in the game files (build 25966348, 2026-10-19), and the value descriptions follow Valve's own help text. When the game gives no list of values, we do not guess one.

How to enter a command in CS2

  1. Enable the console in the game settings: the Game tab, option "Enable Developer Console (~)".
  2. Press the tilde key (~), paste the command and confirm with Enter.
  3. To have commands apply on every launch, save them in autoexec.cfg in the game\csgo\cfg folder of the game directory. If the game does not load it, add +exec autoexec to your launch options.

  • cl_crosshairstyle

Picks the crosshair style, including whether it spreads when you move and shoot.

    cl_crosshairstyle 4

CS2 crosshair commands

A CS2 crosshair is made of a few parameters: style, length, thickness, gap, colour and outline. Most players paste a ready crosshair code, and these commands let you adjust one parameter without touching the rest. The old CS:GO names remain in the game files but no longer behave as they used to, so they are tagged as legacy.

Style and colour

Picks the crosshair style, including whether it spreads when you move and shoot.

  • 4Classic Static: a crosshair that does not spread when you move or shoot.
  • 3Classic Dynamic: the crosshair spreads when you move or shoot.

Tip:A crosshair share code sets this for you. Type the command yourself only when you change the style without pasting a code.

Pros 188 of 199 pros in our database use style 4 (94%, 15 Oct 2026).

cl_crosshairstyle 4

Crosshair colour from the preset palette. A custom colour is value 5 together with the r, g and b commands.

  • 0Red.
  • 1Green.
  • 2Yellow.
  • 3Blue.
  • 4Cyan.
  • 5Custom: use cl_crosshaircolor_r, _g and _b.

Tip:Value 5 is required for a custom colour to apply at all.

cl_crosshaircolor 1

Red component of a custom crosshair colour (0 to 255). Applies with cl_crosshaircolor 5.

Tip:A custom colour is three separate commands: _r, _g and _b. Enter all of them.

cl_crosshaircolor_r 50

Green component of a custom crosshair colour (0 to 255). Applies with cl_crosshaircolor 5.

Tip:Remember cl_crosshaircolor 5, otherwise the game uses the palette colour.

Blue component of a custom crosshair colour (0 to 255). Applies with cl_crosshaircolor 5.

Tip:Remember cl_crosshaircolor 5, otherwise the game uses the palette colour.

cl_crosshaircolor_b 50

Crosshair opacity: 0 is fully transparent, 255 fully opaque.

Tip:255 is fully visible. Lower values make the crosshair semi-transparent.

cl_crosshaircolor_a 255

Size and shape

Length of each crosshair bar, scaled with screen resolution.

Tip:The value scales with resolution, so the same setting looks different on another screen.

cl_crosshair_length 3

  • 0All four bars.
  • 1Without the top bar.

Tip:Hides only the top bar, the rest of the crosshair settings stay as they are.

cl_crosshair_t 0

Width of the sniper scope cross lines. A value above 1 gives extra width, 1 gives a single-pixel hairline.

Tip:1 gives a thin line with the best view of the target, a higher value thickens it.

cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1

Outline

Draws a black outline around the crosshair for better visibility.

  • 0No outline.
  • 1Full outline.
  • 2Half outline.

Tip:With 1 or 2 you set the outline thickness with cl_crosshair_outlinethickness.

cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0

Red component of the crosshair outline colour. _g, _b and _a (opacity) exist too.

cl_crosshairoutline_r 0

Behaviour

The crosshair follows the weapon's predicted recoil (aim punch).

  • 0The crosshair stays at the centre of the screen.
  • 1The crosshair moves with the recoil.

Tip:With 1 the crosshair moves down with the recoil, so you see where the next bullet will go.

cl_crosshair_recoil false

The additional distance the dynamic elements are allowed to spread out to from the baseline of 128 pixels.

cl_crosshair_dynamic_spread_limit

Legacy CS:GO names

CS2 viewmodel commands

The viewmodel is the weapon in your hands as it appears on screen. Four commands, the FOV and three offsets, are enough to set it up like the pros, and viewmodel_presetpos gives a ready starting point. The old weapon bob commands (cl_bob) do not exist in CS2, see the "Not in CS2" section.

FOV and weapon position

Field of view of the weapon you hold (viewmodel FOV). A higher value pushes the weapon away from the screen centre.

Tip:Bind it to a key and switch the weapon side when a wall blocks your view.

bind "x" "switchhands"

CS2 HUD and radar commands

These commands change the interface colour, the radar scale and behaviour, and show FPS, ping and network quality. The cl_hud_telemetry commands now replace the old net_graph. Pros most often keep the radar centred on the player.

Radar

Radar scale. Valid values are 0.25 to 1.0.

Tip:A smaller value gives a smaller radar and more room for the game view.

cl_radar_scale 0.4

Whether the player is always centred on the radar.

  • 0The radar is used to the maximum and the player is not always centred.
  • 1The player is always centred, even at the map edges.

Tip:With 1 the radar does not drift at the map edges, because the player is always at its centre.

Pros 137 of 154 pros use 1 (89%, 15 Oct 2026).

Tip:If the HUD is cut off at the edge of a monitor or TV, lower this value.

safezonex 1

CS2 FPS and network commands

Frame rate limits and interpolation settings. The game manages most network parameters itself, and several CS:GO commands no longer exist or reject changes, so the short list below holds only the ones that make sense.

Frame rate limits

Frame rate limiter. 0 means no limit. Does not apply to a dedicated server.

  • 0No limit.
  • 400Capped at 400 frames.

Pros 74 of 154 pros play uncapped, and the median of the limits set is 500 (15 Oct 2026).

fps_max 0

Frame rate limiter while the game UI is displayed. 0 means no limit. Does not apply to a dedicated server.

Tip:A lower limit in the menu puts less load on the computer while you wait for a match.

fps_max_ui 120

Interpolation and network buffer

The number of client simulation interpolation ticks. According to Valve this value is controlled by cl_net_buffer_ticks and should not be modified directly.

cl_interp_ratio

Number of ticks of delay for server snapshots and user commands. It controls the value of cl_interp_ratio.

cl_net_buffer_ticks 1

Reads the effective client interpolation amount in time. The game rejects attempts to change it with a message asking you to remove the command from your script, so a cfg line does nothing.

Tip:Do not put it in a cfg: the game rejects the change, so the line does nothing.

cl_interp

Maximum number of ticks the clock is allowed to drift before the client snaps its clock to the server's.

cl_clock_correction

CS2 audio commands

Round start music, round end music, MVP music and warnings have separate volume commands, and voice chat has a few of its own. That lets you silence the music without touching footsteps and gunshots.

voice_modenable 1

System sound

Mutes the game when the window loses focus.

Tip:With 0 the sound does not cut off after you switch windows.

snd_mute_losefocus 0

How many seconds the sound engine mixes ahead of playback. A lower value gives less sound latency at the risk of crackling.

snd_mixahead 0.05

The exponent for the pan crossfade from phone to phone if the "exp" pan law is being used.

snd_headphone_pan_exponent

CS2 mouse and sensitivity commands

Sensitivity in CS2 is one number, but its meaning depends on the game: the same value in Valorant turns the view more than three times faster. The sensitivity converter handles conversion from another game, and a separate calculator works out the scope ratio.

Mouse sensitivity. One number in CS2 means something different than in other games, so use the converter to convert.

Tip:Moving your sensitivity from another game? The sensitivity converter does the maths, no guessing.

Pros The pro median is 800 eDPI, about 52 cm per turn.

sensitivity 1.2

Additional mouse sensitivity scale factor applied when the view is zoomed in.

Tip:Value 1 keeps the default scaling. The ratio that gives a 1:1 match is worked out in the scope sensitivity calculator.

zoom_sensitivity_ratio_mouse 1

Additional sensitivity scale factor applied when the FOV is zoomed in. The general variant; for the mouse use zoom_sensitivity_ratio_mouse.

zoom_sensitivity_ratio

Mouse yaw factor: degrees per mouse count at sensitivity 1. In CS2 it defaults to 0.022.

m_yaw

CS2 practice commands: bots, grenades, cheats

CS2 scripts and aliases: quick knife, one-key buys, ready sets

An alias is your own command made of several others, and a bind attaches it to a key. Below are ready lines to paste into the console or an autoexec: a quick switch to the knife and back, one-key buys and practice sets. Jump-throw and null binds are not listed because since August 2024 Valve ignores, by default, binds that combine several movement or attack commands (details in the removed commands section). Change the keys to your own and test new scripts in practice with bots.

Aliases and binds

Holding the key pulls out the knife (slot 3), and releasing it goes back to the weapon you used before. Handy for running faster with the knife without clicking through slots.

alias "+knifeq" "slot3" // on press: knife alias "-knifeq" "lastinv" // on release: previous weapon bind "q" "+knifeq" // by default q switches to the last weapon, this bind turns it into a hold

Binds jumping to scrolling the wheel up and down. Useful for bunny hops and jumps in motion.

Tip:With this you no longer switch weapons with the wheel, so use the number keys.

bind "mwheelup" "+jump" // wheel up: jump bind "mwheeldown" "+jump" // wheel down: jump

Buys kevlar with helmet and a defuser at once. Terrorists skip the defuser because they cannot buy it.

bind "kp_1" "buy vesthelm; buy defuser" // change kp_1 to any key

Buys a frag, a flash and a smoke grenade at once. The game skips whatever you cannot afford or carry.

bind "kp_2" "buy hegrenade; buy flashbang; buy smokegrenade" // add molotov or incgrenade if you like

One bind buys the AK-47, and when you play CT, the M4A1. The game skips the command that does not fit your side.

bind "kp_3" "buy ak47; buy m4a1" // buy awp gets you the AWP

Toggles the interface between visible and hidden, for example for screenshots and clips.

bind "n" "toggle cl_drawhud 0 1" // n toggles the HUD

Ready command sets

Grenade practice set

Needs sv_cheats 1

A full pack for practising grenades on a local server: trajectory preview, a long round, no freeze, buying anywhere and lots of money. Enter it in practice with bots, not in an online match.

sv_cheats 1 // unlocks the practice commands sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1 // grenade trajectory preview sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_trailtime 5 // the grenade trail stays for 5 seconds sv_infinite_ammo 1 // ammo never runs out mp_roundtime 60 // the round lasts 60 minutes mp_roundtime_defuse 60 // the same in defuse mode mp_freezetime 1 // almost no freeze at the start mp_buytime 9999 // buying with no time limit mp_buy_anywhere 1 // buy anywhere mp_maxmoney 60000 // money cap mp_startmoney 60000 // starting money mp_restartgame 1 // restart so the settings apply

Four cl_hud_telemetry commands show ping, frame time and network problems in the HUD only when conditions are poor, so nothing distracts you when things are fine.

cl_hud_telemetry_ping_show 1 // ping when conditions are poor cl_hud_telemetry_frametime_show 1 // frame time when it stutters cl_hud_telemetry_net_misdelivery_show 1 // percentage of lost commands and snapshots cl_hud_telemetry_net_quality_graph_show 1 // jitter and packet loss graph

playdemo demo_name

Starts recording a demo. The stop command finishes recording.

record demo_name

Finishes recording the demo.

stop

Shows or hides the demo playback UI. You can bind it to a key.

Tip:Bind it to a key to open the panel with one press.

bind "k" "demoui"

Skips to a tick in the demo.

Tip:You can check the tick number in the demoui panel.

demo_gototick 12000

Sets the demo replay speed.

Tip:A value below 1 slows playback down, above 1 speeds it up.

demo_timescale 0.5

Pauses demo playback. demo_resume resumes it and demo_togglepause toggles it.

demo_pause

Records commands typed at the console into .dem files.

demo_recordcommands 1

CS2 binds and general commands

Binds, aliases and cfg files, which is how you make all your settings permanent, plus a few general commands: the console, teammate colour and hints for new players.

Binds and cfg files

Binds a command to a key. Syntax: bind "key" "command".

Tip:Wrap a multi-word command in quotes, for example bind "x" "switchhands".

bind "mwheelup" "+jump"

Unbinds a key. The unbindall command removes every binding.

unbind "mwheeldown"

Creates your own name for a command or a series of commands.

Tip:You can then bind the alias to a key like any ordinary command.

alias "hudoff" "cl_drawhud 0"

Executes a cfg file if it exists. This is how you load your own autoexec.

Tip:That is how you load your own cfg files from the game's cfg folder.

exec autoexec

Saves out the user config values.

Tip:Saves your current settings so they are not lost if the game crashes.

host_writeconfig

Echoes text to the console. Handy in a cfg to see that the file loaded.

Tip:Add it at the end of your autoexec to see in the console that the file loaded.

echo "autoexec loaded"

Blinks the specified convar value between two values.

bind "n" "toggle cl_drawhud 0 1"

Cycles through the specified convar values.

bind "[" "incrementvar viewmodel_fov 60 68 1"

Buys an item by name, for example buy ak47. That lets you bind purchases to a key.

Tip:Item names include ak47, awp, m4a1, vest, vesthelm, defuser, hegrenade, flashbang, smokegrenade and molotov.

bind "kp_1" "buy ak47; buy m4a1"

Console and general settings

Pressing the +use key opens the buy menu if you are in a buy zone, just as if you pressed the 'buy' key.

cl_use_opens_buy_menu 0

Whether the silencer can be detached.

  • 0Cannot detach.
  • 1Press secondary fire to detach.
cl_silencer_mode 0

Auto-help: hints for new players.

cl_autohelp 0

Displays in-game lessons that teach new players.

gameinstructor_enable 0

Preferred teammate colour.

cl_color 0

In deathmatch the player gets a random weapon on spawn (1) or the last weapon (0).

cl_dm_buyrandomweapons 0

Sets the developer message level.

developer 1

Allows the console to be activated. With 0 the console will not open.

con_enable 1

CS:GO commands that do not work in CS2

We did not find these commands in the game files (build 25966348, checked 2026-10-19). A cfg line changes nothing, so there is no point copying them. Each has a replacement where one exists.

jumpthrow

Not in CS2

An alias that combines jumping and releasing the grenade (+jump;-attack) has been ignored on Valve official servers since 19 August 2024: the game skips binds with more than one movement or shooting command by default, and anyone working around it with hardware or scripts can be kicked from a match. According to Valve a jump-throw works reliably without binds: you jump and throw the grenade quickly. In practice with cheats, cl_allow_multi_input_binds 1 brings such binds back.

Use instead cl_allow_multi_input_binds

null_binds

Not in CS2

Null binds (binds that resolve pressing two opposite movement keys) fell under the same rule from 19 August 2024. Hardware versions such as Snap Tap, Snappy Tappy or Rappy Snappy are detected by Valve on official servers and get you kicked from the match, so turn them off before queuing.

cl_cmdrate

Not in CS2

The CS:GO rate at which commands were sent to the server. It is not in the CS2 files.

cl_updaterate

Not in CS2

The CS:GO rate at which updates were requested from the server. It is not in the CS2 files.

CS2 launch options are not console commands

They are a separate thing. You type them in Steam: Library, CS2, Properties, Launch Options. Among the 84 pros with launch options recorded in our database the most common are -novid (64), -tickrate (62), -console (44), -freq (43), -allow_third_party_software (29) and -nojoy (20), data from 15 Oct 2026. Most launch options cannot be checked in the game files the way commands can, so here we only report how often pros use them.

CS2 commands: questions

How do I enable the console in CS2?

In the game settings, on the Game tab, turn on "Enable Developer Console (~)". The console then opens with the tilde key (~), the one under Esc.

Where do I save autoexec.cfg?

In the game\csgo\cfg folder of the game directory, usually Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive. The generator above builds such a file from the commands you pick. If the game does not load it, add +exec autoexec to your launch options.

Why does net_graph not work in CS2?

It is not in the game files. The cl_hud_telemetry_* commands show similar information about ping, FPS and network quality, for example cl_hud_telemetry_ping_show 2.

Does cl_interp work in CS2?

The command is in the game, but the game rejects changes to its value and asks you to remove it from your script, so a cfg line does nothing. The value shows which interpolation the client actually has.

Which commands need sv_cheats 1?

The ones tagged on the list, such as noclip, god, give or sv_infinite_ammo. They only work on a local server, for example in practice with bots, not in online matches.

Does a jump-throw bind work in CS2?

Not on Valve official servers. Since the 19 August 2024 update the game ignores, by default, binds that combine more than one movement or shooting command, including the classic +jump;-attack alias. According to Valve a jump-throw works reliably without binds: you jump and throw the grenade quickly. In practice with cheats, cl_allow_multi_input_binds 1 brings such binds back.

Are Snap Tap and null binds allowed in CS2?

Valve detects hardware that resolves opposing keys and kicks you from the match on official servers, which covers Snap Tap, Snappy Tappy and Rappy Snappy. Turn them off before queuing. Check FACEIT and tournament rules separately in their current regulations.

How do I set endless warmup and a long round?

mp_warmup_pausetimer 1 keeps warmup on indefinitely, and mp_roundtime 60 with mp_roundtime_defuse 60 stretch the round to an hour. On official servers these commands will not work.

Why does my autoexec not work?

Most often the file is called autoexec.cfg.txt because of hidden extensions, sits in the wrong folder, or the game does not load it and you need to add +exec autoexec to your launch options. Commands tagged sv_cheats 1 do not work outside a local server.

Are there commands for an aimbot or a wallhack?

No. The CS2 console has no such commands, and sv_cheats only works on a local server, so it gives no advantage in an online match. Searching for "console cheats" usually leads to scams and malicious programs.

How do you know a command exists?

We look the names up in the files of the installed game (build 25966348), not in guides on the web. Commands we did not find there sit in a separate section labelled as not existing.

Commands in the database: 159, not existing in CS2: 22.
